Statement on Recent Policy Developments That Affect People With IDD

In the last week, a flurry of executive orders and legal challenges has raised concerns about the future of key programs and policies affecting healthcare and disability services—including diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, federal funding, and Medicaid. We recognize that these developments have created uncertainty and anxiety for many individuals and families in our community.

At IEC, our mission remains unwavering: to make healthcare better and safer for people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD). We have not changed our strategy or commitment. We stand strong with our partners, advocates, and healthcare leaders in advancing equitable, sustainable, person-centered care.

We are closely tracking these changes alongside our colleagues in the disability and healthcare sectors. While the full implications are still unfolding, we remain vigilant and ready to support solutions that safeguard care for people with IDD.

To our partners and community members: We see you. We hear your concerns. And we will continue to stand with you. Together, we will navigate these challenges with resilience and purpose.

In good health,

Mai Pham, IEC President and CEO
